Thesis & Dissertation Binding

At Book1One, we will give the same care and attention to detail in binding your thesis or dissertation that you used to create it. Our thesis and dissertation binding method uses the same process we employ in our high quality hard cover books, ensuring that the finished product will be both attractive and professional looking.

With this process, the text pages are glued together at the spine to create what is called a "text block." The "end leaves" that hold the text block in the case are applied to the binding edge of the text block. The cover is created separately using selected materials and is glued to the end leaves and text block to create a book that will last for years.

Pages:

Because of the trimming process, please allow a 3/4" margin on the binding edge of each page and at least a 1/2" margin at the top, bottom, and outside edge of the page.

Book1One works exclusively with PDF files. Creating a PDF is very easy and can be done two different ways:

        1. You can convert your document to PDF using your own PDF converter
either online or as a print driver on your own computer. When
converting to PDF, please maintain the "highest resolution" and make
            sure the fonts are embedded.

        2. Book1One's online-ordering system allows you to upload many
different file formats. This system will convert your file to a print ready
PDF. Please be sure to completely review your file on the "approve
page" as this is the file that will print.

  Thesis Cover:

Book1One offers foil stamping on both the front cover
and spine of hard cover bound theses and
  dissertations.

The foil stamping usually includes the title of the
document, the author's name and year of
completion. Normally the title and full author's name
appear on the front cover and the title, author's last
name and year appear on the spine. However,
exceptions to this standard format are available,
  usually at no additional cost.

Book1One also offers a number of faux leather cover
finishes to choose from. To view cover color choices,
