Soft cover book binding

Soft cover book binding is an economical binding method that uses the same high quality materials as hard cover book binding.

With soft cover book binding, adhesive is applied to the spine side of the pages, and the soft cover (comprised of 100# cover stock with film lamination) is then wrapped around the pages. After the adhesive is cured, the book is trimmed on 3 sides, leaving you with an attractive, functional soft cover book.

Preparing Your Document

Pages:

Because of the triming process, please allow a 1/2' margin on the binding edge of each page and at least a 1/4" margin at the top, bottom and outside edge of the page.

Book1One works exclusively with PDF files. Creating a PDF is very easy and can be done two different ways:

        1. You can convert your document to PDF using your own PDF converter
either online or as a print driver on your own computer. When
converting to PDF, please maintain the "highest resolution" and make
            sure the fonts are embedded.

        2. Book1One's online-ordering system allows you to upload many
different file formats. This system will convert your file to a print-ready
PDF. Please be sure to completely review your file on the "approve
page" as this is the file that will print.

We have developed interactive guides to help you create your book cover. To download your soft cover guide, please click on the link below. Once you have downloaded the guide, input the text trim size, page count (All page counts are based on 2 sided print. If you are using 1 sided print, be sure to double your page count for 1 sided print.) and select paper type. This guide will help you determine the proper layout of your cover.

If your book has less than a 5/16 " spine, please do not place any text or graphics on it.  If the spine is not wide enough, you can end up with type wrapping to the front or back cover.
